Hangar Names the Three Artists Who Will Sit With Its Residents for...

Hangar has named the three people who will sit with its residents for the next year. Isadora Neves, Nilo Gallego and Lucía Àngel join the Resonance Team for the 2026/27 edition. The centre calls the group a sounding board. The idea is simple enough: a resident working alone on a long project needs someone to talk to who is not a boss.

That last part matters more than it sounds. Most artist support arrives as a hierarchy. A tutor checks your progress. A mentor tells you what is missing. Hangar wants the opposite, a zone of contact rather than a ladder. The program's own notes push away from the words tutoring and mentoring. They describe an interface, a place where two practices meet and both get examined.

The three new members come from different disciplines and different places. That is the point. Neves, Gallego and Àngel bring separate methods into the room, and the residents bring theirs. The meetings run across a year. Sessions are set for November 2026, then January and March 2027. Between them, each resident keeps working.

Hangar is in Barcelona's Poblenou district. It has run as a production and research centre for artists for years, and the Resonance Team is one of several support programs it keeps going. The team itself is small, three people, and the relationship is deliberately slow. Nothing here produces a deliverable by a deadline. The work is the conversation, and the conversation takes months.

If you make things and you run out of people who understand the problem, this is the shape of help to look for: not a course, not a grant, just someone senior who will sit with your process. Details on the program and the residents are on Hangar's site.
