Responsive Dreams 2026: A Code Art Festival Returns to Granollers

The date is fixed and the poster is out. Responsive Dreams returns for its fourth edition on 25, 26 and 27 September, at Nau Dents de Serra inside the Roca Umbert complex in Granollers, twenty minutes up the train line from Barcelona. The festival is run by The Generative Art Museum, a non-profit that treats code as an art medium rather than a utility.

The line-up reads like a map of where generative art lives right now. Agoston Nagy, Alba G Corral, Anna Carreras, Anna Lucia, fingacode & spongenuity, Licia He, rudxane and Stefanoe Contiero all show new works. Installations come from Iona Vreme Moser, Marc Vilanova, Lev Manovich, and the pair of Lukas Truniger with Bruce Yoder. Myriam Bleau, Roxanne Harris, Takk Iori and Marta Verde play live sets. A dense field. One room at a time.

What makes the festival worth the trip is the mix. Wall pieces hang or glow beside performances that will never repeat, because live coding does not leave a recording that matters the same way. The same building holds a screen running Lev Manovich's media analysis and a stage where Marta Verde builds sound in front of you. One ticket covers all of it.

Registration is open now and the venue holds a limited number of people. The registration page asks for a name and an email and little else. No membership, no portfolio review. Granollers is easy to reach from Barcelona, and the Roca Umbert complex is a former textile factory, which suits a festival of pattern-makers.
